One of the many cupcakes participating in Martha Stewart's Cutest Cupcakes Contest 2009. Not my creation. I'm not a baker, only someone who thinks pastries are beautiful.

Martha's cupcake shows have become my favorite! When she has the bakers from some of those cupcake bakeries on, I just want to jump in the car and go!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child growing up in Southern California we had these big yellow trucks from Helms Bakery that drove around like ice cream trucks do. They would open up the back doors and these huge trays would slide out. One of the trays held cupcakes, can you imagine? Cupcakes right outside your door! They had other baked goods also, but it's the cupcakes I remember.
How had I not heard of this? I adore cupcakes too. Mmmm now I need to go bake some I think.

ReplyDeleteI agree, pastries can be beautiful. The lady who made my wedding cake, Kim Morrison, won the national cake decorating contest twice. Now she judges it. I hated to cut into that cake. It was so pretty. It had calla lillies made out of sugar on the cake. People thought they were real.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful and dreamy blog... My friends call me a "real beach person" because I love to go to the beach in the off season when no one is there and just sit and watch the ocean... your blog makes me feel like I'm there... I love it!
