The old Man and his Shell House

"Paco started to cover the walls of his house with shells, 40 years ago then just couldn't stop." I love that kind of creativity; innocent, just because you have to.

  1. Wow, this is kind of crazy! I'm sure it works for Paco, if he loves his shells, but to me it's a bit of a warning about taking a passion too far. But his shell-covered mushrooms are rather cute.

  2. I love it. Women don't seem to do this sort of thing: passionate decades long projects. His wife is probably happy has a hobby.

  5. I like to believe that time was not an issue for Paco and that he didn't have the end result in mind but just went with the flow: one shell at a time so to speak.

  6. So interesting and lovely when you consider it is the result of many years of passionate persistency. It is quite uniform. Perhaps it was meditative for him?

  11. very unique and interesting life project..

kinda reminds me of the guy in downtown philly, who started doing mosaics in tile and mirror along south street, covering empty (boring) spaces with his unique art vision. years later he held summer clinics, where folks could come mosaic alongside of him...

  15. Well, I can't think of a more beautiful way to use shells. So beautiful there and nature/beach inspired. He's very creative with shells and stones and gourds and that gets my vote for a man every time. He's a problem solver also, which will get my second vote every time. Thanks for showing this unique house.
