Songwriter Lvingston Taylor calls his Small Seaside Cottage on Marthas Vineyard The Camp. It's where he spends the summer, working in silence, listening inside or in his words to his muse.
Did I mention 300-square-foot small! But not to worry. His real house is just up the hill and five times the size.

I don't know what it is about small spaces but I just love them. I guess it is the cozy factor. Cute little casita.
ReplyDeleteI guess you could overlook the size considering the location!!.. Thanks for commenting on my blog. The sepia also helps disguise the poor scanning quality! I will have to post some more sepia!.
ReplyDeleteTime to read "Gifts from the Sea" again for the upteenth time! Thanks for sharing - wondering if he is related to James Taylor...I'm thinking so, but not sure...
ReplyDeleteYes he is the brother of James Taylor, who supposedly also lives on Martha's Vineyard.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely little cottage!
ReplyDeleteI love the silence factor. I can 'hear' the silence now....
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it suits him quite well. We saw Livingston in concert in Portsmouth, NH last summer. He put on a great show.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful surrounding. The cottage is small but like a hotel room, I can imagine you're not in in long enough for it to matter.
ReplyDelete:-)
Thanks for sharing this tiny but beautiful corner of the world. Love the Vineyard and all the flavour of the sea there. You do have some nice things going on in your blog space.
ReplyDeleteI probably passed by there a few times when living on the vineyard. My room there was small too, about 9 x9 , and super expensive rent.....
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit,
Suzy
So pretty - I'd love this, too!
ReplyDeleteI've been a fan of Livingston Taylor's for years. He's best when he plays to intimate audiences. His talent is immense.
ReplyDeleteHis place is so cool, just like the man.
my mom lives in spruce head, maine.
ReplyDeletethere is a little house on a tiny, tiny island that you ( maybe ) could swim to.
this picture reminds me of it.
