"Paco started to cover the walls of his house with shells, 40 years ago then just couldn't stop." I love that kind of creativity; innocent, just because you have to.
You can see more of Paco's shell house @ My Castle in Spain:

Wow, this is kind of crazy! I'm sure it works for Paco, if he loves his shells, but to me it's a bit of a warning about taking a passion too far. But his shell-covered mushrooms are rather cute.
ReplyDeleteWow... it looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Women don't seem to do this sort of thing: passionate decades long projects. His wife is probably happy has a hobby.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! I bet that took some time.
ReplyDeleteNow thats what i call lovely --- it makes me tired just thinking of how long that had to take.

Boy, that's dedication!
ReplyDeleteI like to believe that time was not an issue for Paco and that he didn't have the end result in mind but just went with the flow: one shell at a time so to speak.
ReplyDeleteSo interesting and lovely when you consider it is the result of many years of passionate persistency. It is quite uniform. Perhaps it was meditative for him?
ReplyDeletewow!! that is some dedication!!
ReplyDeleteOK how slow I am? "Old Man and the ......sea?"
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't think of the "Old Man and the Sea", so, hmmmm, that puts me behind the moon!

ReplyDeleteHe's taking it easy at the moment but this little man never stops!

:-)
very unique and interesting life project..
ReplyDeletekinda reminds me of the guy in downtown philly, who started doing mosaics in tile and mirror along south street, covering empty (boring) spaces with his unique art vision. years later he held summer clinics, where folks could come mosaic alongside of him...
...how neat. i bet people come from all around to see his lovely work of love. thanks for sharing, mickey
ReplyDelete40 years?! Props to Paco and good for him other people shows appreciation for what he did and his creativity.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun look bordering on obsession, but I love it!

Well, I can't think of a more beautiful way to use shells. So beautiful there and nature/beach inspired. He's very creative with shells and stones and gourds and that gets my vote for a man every time. He's a problem solver also, which will get my second vote every time. Thanks for showing this unique house.
